should i buy a pair of tall synthetic english Field Boots?
im looking to buy a pair and i dont know how well they hold up so i was just wondering if anybody had a good review on them or if anybody has past experiences with synthetic boots
If you're talking about the ones that "look just like leather", I'm not sure they're worth the money. I had a pair that I bought in England. They lasted about two years ( I was riding nearly every day at that time.) I thought that, since they were synthetic, they would be low-maintenance as well as low-cost. As it turned out, I could have bought some cheap leather ones for about half the cost, and they would have lasted just as long -- even with my rather indifferent care of them. I now own a pair of good-quality Tall Boots that I save for lessons, shows, and fox hunting, and save my abusive daily wear for my Paddock Boots. (Now here is where it DOES pay off to get synthetics -- especially if, like me, you're too lazy to put on rubber muck boots for stall work!)
