Has an animal rescue show ever made you cry and hug your pet?
Last night I was watching Animal Cops Houston. This dog was chained to a fence with a heavy chain and jumper cables. The chain was so deep I think they said it was touching his spine. Every time they touched him, the poor thing yelped. Because of the embedded collar, his jaw was swollen. He was also emaciated and starved. He had heart worms and intestinal parasites. It takes a lot for me to cry & that made me cry because I felt so bad for him. His name was Trouble. They had to put him to sleep because he was aggressive.
Another dog on the episode after that was so starved he couldn't stand up and he was hanging on to life by a thread. I have never seen a dog so skinny in my life. He had no muscle mass or fat. His name was Triumph. It didn't make me cry but it almost did.
It makes me sick someone would do that to a living being.
Did you guys see those dogs?
I've lived that show, as an employee of our local shelter and as a vet tech. I used to go home and cry and hug my dog with great regularity.
