Flat Reins
Dos it rly matter wat side the crop and excess reins are on?
i completely forgot my trainer always wanted me to have the crop on one side and the excess reins on the other. while showing on the flat in equitation and pleasure classes, dos it matter? if so wat side is the crop supposed to go on and what side is the excess reins supposed to go on? i never paid attention before but nobody never said nething. but now i was lookin at pics from old shows and now im wondering. ty
Crop and excess reins should always be on the off side (right side). This came from times past, when your saber or sword was worn on the left to make mounting easier. You kept your reins and crop on the right to minimize interference.
