Cell Phone service question?
I lost my cell phone two days ago, it was a motorola slvr and now I'm looking into buying a blackberry on ebay instead of paying full price at the store. Can I transfer service from the old slvr to a blackberry, or would I need to get a new contract? My cell phone service is US cellular.
You can, just make sure you get a CDMA US Cellular Blackberry or a CDMA Unlocked Blackberry. It will specify on the ebay page which kind it is.
You have unfortunately lost your numbers, but you should be able to activate the new phone without a problem. Companies often want to charge you $18 though to switch phones. If they try to do that, argue with them. They almost always drop the charge if you refuse to pay it. Just don't tell them you lost your old phone.
