How do i make a combat arms machinima?
Hey, im just wondering how to make a fully functional combat arms machinima, like what kind of tools should i need to make one?
Well, I have made several Machinimas and all I can help you with is that you would need a video editing program (like windows movie maker, its free if you have windows), a screencapture program (like FRAPS, or WeGame, Fraps costs money for the good features, but WeGame is free although it may not work with Combat Arms), and a voice recording program to record the voices (a good one is Audacity, its free). Although I cannot tell you how well this will work in Combat arms, the only really good Machinimas I've ever seen (and the only ones I've worked on) have been using Source engine games or complete 3D animation programs (last one is very complex, not for a beginner at all, best way to learn how to do that is go to a college that teaches that). Source engine games include Half Life 2, Left 4 Dead, Team Fortress 2, etc. That is what almost all the machinimas that I've seen use. This is due to the fact that the company that creates those games gives you a free SDK (software development kit) which includes their mapmaker, a program called Faceposer (not used for posing faces mostly, it makes their charachters change expressions, lip sync, move around, change postures, make gestures with arms and legs, and much more, it is what a good deal of machinimas use). Anyway thats all the information I can give you about making machinimas, you can probably find some place to get more info by searching on Google.
EDIT: ok, I lied, there are lots of machinimas that don't use source engine, but a sizeable portion do, its the way I am most familiar with making machinimas, and I find it looks by far the best due to the lip synching and other effects that are done automatically, not manually. So effectively with source you can create an entire machinima with just you (plus voice actors), and don't have to have anyone help you out by controlling charachters.
