Jumping Saddle
How do you protect your stomach from the horn when you are jumping in a Western Saddle? ?
I am not saying a 3 foot vertical. All I want to jump is a foot tall cross-rail. How do you protect your stomach when going into the 2-point position? My friend said I could just put my hand on the horn, but would that help? Is there anything else I can do?
The old timers did the grab the horn routine when jumping, however a western saddle does NOT put your body where it needs to be when going over a fence.
Do your horse a favor and go find yourself a cheap English Jumping saddle. Ebay has them at affordable prices.
