How to measure Horse Tack?

I need to know how to measure these things:
saddle
bridle
bit
girth
stirrup leather
stirrup

The most important piece of tack to get the measurement right with is the saddle, if its the wrong size it will be uncomfortable for the horse and that will probably make him difficult for you to ride.
The best saddles on the market at the moment I think are the wintec saddles, not only are they synthetic so easy to clean! they also have an adjustable gullet so you can make the saddle wider or narrower depending on how fit the horse is (you can get a thing you put over the withers which tells you which gullet to use). Which just leaves the length to get right! The back of the saddle should be no further back than the ribs and you should be able to feel the shoulder blade at the front of the saddle. Saddle lengths are measured in inches, in half inch differences (you could borrow someone's saddle to work out how much longer or shorter your saddle needs to be than theirs).
As for the rest;
bridle - pony/cob/full
bit - cm's between rings, no pinching or big gaps
girth - inches/cm's should be small enough to have room to tighten it but big enough to reach both sides when you first put it on
stirrup leather - better to buy bigger than smaller as you could always add extra holes and cut some of the length off. Alternatively get wintec webbers, not as bulky as the old leather style.
stirrup - not too big that your foot could slip through but not too small that you dont get the ball of your Riding Boot stuck.
