Ok! During the recent manga when naruto reached tail #6 he lost control of his emotions... and lashed out on Pain.
Second by Second, Minute by Minute he was memorized by the fox and he reached tail #8... and his heart disappeared and he had a whole in his chest and the fox took control of him and giving him commands to open the seal that he is captured in.
Then suddenly 4th Hokage showed up on the scene. I mean inside of Naruto's Spirit... and the nine tail got pissed cuaz of 4th Hokage and the 4th took Naruto into another dimension in his heart or something like that...
Then 4th Hokage reversed the seal and naruto was back to normal but u can see the concept that after 3-4 tails naruto can't control the fox...
But when 8 tail appeared 4th hokage reversed the seal and saved naruto.
But in the recent manga, naruto has mastered the sage mode and while he was fighitng with Pain naruto was in sage mode looking like a toad and at the same time he had the fox eye...
so now naruto is in a whole different league and he doesn't need as much of fox power to defeat his enemies... unless the enemie(s) are stronger or equal to pain...
