School uniform - what pieces, and how many? My daughter will be in 1st grade.?

The school has a plaid, plus navy/khaki pants, capris, shorts, skorts, skirts, jumpers to choose from. Polos, blouses, sweaters... What do most kids wear? Is it better to buy many cheap pieces, or worth it to spend more on quality? Do girls mostly wear the peter pan collar? Which is better - "interlock" or "mesh" fabric? HELP!

OK, I went to a parochial school from grades K-8 (I'm going into 11th now) so I still know how we changed our uniforms :].
>We had peter pan collars in the younger grades, but then we got new uniforms and got button-up polos.
>We were grateful for the sweater in the winter, and everyone wore one, regardless of how 'cool' they were.

Don't waste your money on expensive uniforms because your daughter won't fit in it for long, and you'll waste all your money buying new uniforms every year or so.
