Pony Trail

How has Trail Riding become harder due to land loss, since you were young?
I'm getting my first rating in pony club tomorrow, and it's required that I discuss this with my examiner. I'm not really sure what to say.
It says: Talk with older friends about where they rode when they were young and how it is different from today.
So, how is it different?
I live in southwest Virginia by the way.
Trail riding has become harder where I grew up due to development. One set of trails, in a regional park, are still there. I used to get to it right from my parent's yard, or the horse farm next door, but since then, they've built a few houses in between and now you'd have to ride up some driveways to access the trails. Other parts of the trail system were taken over by houses, too, but there is still a pretty good set of trails within the park boundary.
On the other side of the road, those trails are gone completely because about 1000 acres got developed.
That's what this question is mostly about - losing access to trails due to development (a clue is that it's under the heading "Land Conservation"). People might be more restricted to parkland now, and might need to trailer their horse to go trail riding, instead of just riding out from their barn. Also, some trail systems might be broken up now, so it's not possible to ride straight through, so you can't go on a 4 hour ride anymore.
Good luck with your rating.
