I want to open a ranch, but..... ?
In the future, I would like to own a ranch...
Ideas on how to make money??
I'm not very interested in breeding, or becoming a very big boarding center. A dude ranch sounds cool, and trail rides, but can I really pay a 1/2 million dollar property with that?? I mean, I want alot of acres, and it's been my dream to just be able to saddle up and go.

I would probably start out small - get a "regular" job (boring, I know). Save up and buy the property you want. Then take on more ranch type stuff as you feel you can- weekend lessons and/or trail rides, perhaps some boarders. As you get more ranch business, it will start to become self sufficient and you can give up your day job.
Or you can just have a regular job and own a horse property for you and your horses and enjoy it all on the weekends.
