Side Saddle
fitting a side saddle?
I've been offered a side saddle, but I have NO clue how to fit it to my horse. Does anybody have any experience with them? And yeah, I've been looking on the internet, but I'm not finding a whole lot except - "Buy my book to find out all about . . . ." I always find those a little suspect.
The underside should fit like any other saddle, western or English. To see if it will fit you, sit on a hard chair or against a wall, with something behind your back. Measure from that chair back or wall, to just behind your knee to get the seat length. Measure the saddle from the back of the cantle, to the front side of the horn or pommel that your right leg goes over.
