Synthetic Saddle Dilemmas?
I was just wondering, what are the con's of buying a synthetic saddle? (Western) I'm not planning on really showing much, just local, and 4-H shows, mostly just Trail Riding and pleasure. Are there any shows that prohibit using Synthetic saddles?
And, do I want something with silver? I know it looks good for shows, but will it go out of style?

Can anyone tell me a little more specifically what shows would and would not accept it?
synthetic should be fine for you. great price, easy to clean, lighter to lift, All Around great. i don't know of any association that prohibits them, but most who show a lot will have a Leather Saddle. if you want to show more often, it might be worthwhile to at least get leather. you can add some shine with your outfit and accessories. instead of silver. or you can buy the silver later if you're trying to save money now.
i've had a cordura for 8 yrs, my first synthetic. i wouldn't ever get rid of it. i use it more that my leathers.
the most important thing is that your saddle fits your horse properly.
